EARTH DAY is the most widely recognized annual environmental event in the world. Celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection, the first Earth Day took place in 1970. Today more than 193 countries participate. The Tulsa Earth Coalition, comprised of many of our city’s active environmental and sustainability groups, will host a free day-long celebration on Guthrie Green featuring expert speakers, educational booths, fun family & kids activities, arts vendors, local cuisine and more. Tulsa’s celebration will showcase about 60 environmental organizations. The event features live music by “sustainable rocker” Randy Crouch, Oceanaut, Brujoroots, Susan Herndon, Steve Liddell, Wheat Penny, and more.

TULSA TALKS CLIMATE’S Isabella Koster and Michael Koster, as well as Green Country Sierra Club Chair Barbara VanHanken, will be guests on Channel 8’s Good Day Tulsa TV show Friday, April 20, at 9AM to talk about Earth Day activities.
Isabella Koster trained with Al Gore to become a Climate Reality Leader, which means, among other things, that she has access to all of his slide show materials and many other resources. She will present a Climate Reality slideshow at Philbrook Downtown, across from Guthrie Green, at 3PM during Sunday’s Earth Day celebration. Refreshments will be served. Big thanks to Philbrook Museum of Art for its support.
